Harbor City Roller Derby: Success
There was a little thing called roller derby that happened last Friday night in the town of Superior, Wisconsin.
Three of our league photogs went to the scrimmage and we included a wonderful photographer who goes by the flickr handle Slow Typist. Then MNRG also had two photogs. So our list of photogs was as follows…
Preflash Gordon: NSRG / McGeeky: NSRG / ME: NSRG / Apron: MNRG / Marcus: MNRG / Slow Typist: Freelance (There likely were more, but I have no idea who they were.)
The bout was hosted by the Harbor City Roller Girls and included both our North Star girls as well as the MN Roller Girls. The event was meant to show the town what modern roller derby is, and to hopefully help recruit for the league. Harbor City has been putting together their league for two years now and really need skaters and volunteers. The girls are great and they really made sure that we all had a choice of hotels to stay at.
I think derby will be a huge success there. That town is hurting for some entertainment and derby seems like the perfect sport.
Here are some images from the night.
